Film fans can often be an eccentric bunch. But that can be said of most fans, after all the term most likely derives from the word fanatic. What sets film fans apart from other supporters of various things is the fact that film fans will unashamedly champion examples of the worst the artform has to offer. After all, if you go to a football match and your team plays badly, you most likely shout obscenities at the players from the safety of the stands, leave in a foul mood and possibly beat up the some of the opposing team’s fans (violence is never the answer, people.), if you go to the theatre and see a terrible performance, you don’t go again and make snide comments to your friends. What do film fans do when presented with a horrendous abomination of their favorite art form? Why, rally around it, make it a cult favorite and spread the word as far as they can, of course! Weirdos.
